Student Testimonials

Here are few words , very kindly , written by some of my students

Lee's preoccupation with safety issues and attention to detail with equipment set-up is extremely reassuring given the nature of the sport. His teaching technique is concise and detailed. Lee's knowledge of the sport, local weather conditions and local kite spots is second to none. I would not hesitate to recommend Lee as a teacher to anyone looking to take up the sport.

Lee was recommended by a friend as a good instructor to continue my training after I had completed a course whilst on holiday in the Canary Islands. Having gauged my expertise (or lack of it as I found out) Lee crammed incredible amounts of practical skills techniques and safety demonstrations into a 2 hour period, learning and absorbing more than I had during my 3 day course abroad. It seems that Lee is passionate about his sport and his ability to pass across information with explanations and examples is amazing. He is always around the beach and continues to give advice and encouragement months afterwards and even came to the local shop with me to help me choose and buy my equipment. I am now staying upwind and even starting to land my first jumps. Thanks mate!

Safety, safety, safety!!!!!! If its the only thing I learned from my sessions it will be worth it. I had a couple of close shaves before I decided to have a 2 hour lesson with Lee he drummed into me the importance of being safe and gave me so many techniques and ways of checking my equipment my confidence grew. When you are confident with your gear you are free to learn and have fun doing it.

Being fifty-five years of age and wanting to learn kite surfing I had to ask the question who would be prepared to teach me and should I be looking to learn a less extreme sport?

I asked Lee Burling who was a kite surfing instructor if he would give me one to one lessons.  I knew he would not push me beyond my capabilities and would take consideration of my age, ability and dexterity. However, the tuition I received from Lee was second to none coupled with continuous support and encouragement, which has made kite surfing a major factor in my life. Lee’s enthusiasm and alacrity for the sport is infectious, he has taught so much that I have found a role modal to aspire to. If I had to sum up the two most important aspects of his tuition they would be. Kite safety on and off the water and his ability to teach people of different levels of learning.

When I wanted to start Kitesurfing Lee was recommended to me by one of his ex students. I contacted Lee and made arrangements for my lessons to begin .I was impressed by his promptness and professionalism and the way he conducted himself. From the first lesson it became obvious that Lee had great knowledge and passion for the sport, which I feel is imperative if you are to be instructing this sport .Lee is extremely safety conscious and thorough in his method due to the possible dangers of the sport. I was given priceless advice on equipment, tides, weather patterns and was introduced to other kitesurfers at a similar level to assist my progress. Lee is still at hand to offer any advice and solve any problems that I might have regarding the sport. I will, and do recommend Lee to anybody who is thinking about entering the sport.

I had lessons with Lee last year and took one of his taster lessons and although I have decided not to continue with the water kite lessons i have continued to fly power kites on land and have now bought my first land board. The saftey advice given to me by lee in his lessons has already saved me from a couple of dangerous situations already. I only weigh 7 stone and he managed to keep me feeling safe and secure whilst flying the kites and gave me all the advice needed when i later came to buy my kit. It was the lack of small kitesurfing kites that has led me go land based rather than water based.
